Facebook

Well, cleared out my Facebook friends list. Many years ago, when Facebook first came out, I did a few social experiments with it. I would pick random schools and try to get as many people from that school to add me. I had several methods, but they nearly all worked. I think, at the height of it, I had over 1200 friends. I eventually grew bored and stopped. Now, years later, it had widdled down to around 800. I just decided to finally clean it out. It is now down to 286. More will be cleared out eventually. I just felt like a prick though, while doing it. Clicking 'remove friend' seemed some pompish. I took out people I never knew, people I never liked to begin with, and people that I will probably never talk to again.

I guess not

I think I might have the only blog that no one anywhere reads.

Going to Harbin, China tomorrow. It is ridiculously cold there. BRRRRR

I'm signing my new lease today. I can only hope that the landlady got the place cleaned, so I can move in.

Does anyone but me read this?

I originally made this to keep family and friends updated on my time in China, but the website was blocked for most of my first year here. I know I have a link on my Facebook to this, but I'm fairly certain that NOBODY has looked at this site but me. Maybe it has to do that I don't update. I'm going to start updating, I guess, but I also wonder about whether or not I should really talk about what happens to me. I know that a lot of companies check online to find out about potential employees. I try to keep what is accessible to the entire public at least semi-respectable.

My google status changed again. I used to be numbers 1,2,4,and 5 on the search resluts for michael flanagin without quotes. That was a happy day for me. I felt important. I have been knocked down to numbers 3,4,and 7. Still top ten, but not as good as it used to be. I guess there was a time when a lot of people visited my Facebook, LinkedIn, and bloc.net pages. Maybe I should update more to keep the traffic up.

There is a Michael Patrick Flanagan (notice that the only difference in our names is the AN at the end of the last name instead of my IN) on wikipedia. He was apparently a former U.S. Representative of the House from 1995-1997 for the state of Illinois.'

This leads my desire to do something monumental to get my name on wikipedia. Maybe I can break a Guinness World Record or get on television or something. Wikipedia is my next step on my search for immortality.
